- We will continue the previous practical ๐ 4. Species distribution modelling , but we will use biologically meaningful environmental variables for the prediction. This is a minimally guided practical but consider these two main questions:
- Where can I get biologically meaningful variables such as temperature, precipitation, and elevation?
- How can I include them as covariates in the Poisson process?
- With the newly predicted species distribution, can I perform additional spatial analyses that will be meaningful for conservation and management of this species?
Feel free to explore on your own and share with me (and the demonstrators) what you found. You can also work on other species or any other kind of spatial data.

I might not have a chance to speak to every of you in this course, but thank you for being a dedicated student and I hope this is both useful and interesting. If it is not useful, wellโฆ at least you made some maps.
